What to do in the Meantime…
So, it’s been awhile since my last post. At that time, I was so excited to see results from my children’s book, The Linoleum People. As it turns out, I’ve had to back-pedal and reassess the publishing process. I’m now waiting for The Linoleum People - Part Four. In a nutshell…
The Linoleum People - Part One … Local Printer, medium expense, quick turnaround, no bells and whistles, low quality - REJECTED
The Linoleum People - Part Two … South Carolina publisher, very expensive, several weeks to print, no bells and whistles but a little better quality - REJECTED
The Linoleum People - Part Three … Amazon and Online stores, very expensive, quick turnaround, poor quality, not worthy of expense, pulled the book offline - REJECTED
The Linoleum People - Part Four … Overseas printer, great price point, all the bells and whistles!, beautiful quality, have to purchase 1,000 books, 12-14 weeks turnaround, hopefully, the book of my dreams - EXCITED TO SEE THE FINISHED PRODUCT! Fingers crossed.
So, what to do in the meantime? Reinvent the landscaping around the house, hopefully to minimize maintenance and water usage. Have back surgery to fix a ruptured disc. Recoup with family, letting them do all the heavy lifting. Take an online writing course, and start a novel.
Things don’t always go as we would have planned them to. Stuff happens, things get in our way we don’t have control of. But, that doesn’t mean we can’t still progress. We might need to switch our focus and regroup, but in the end we are still growing, learning, and creating. TLP - Part Four will be available in the fall. I think it will be worth the wait.
